Wordshark encourages the serious task of learning to read and spell with fun literacy activities

Wordshark is an important teaching resource for improving spelling, reading and motivation. Based on 'Alpha to Omega' and compatible with the National Literacy Scheme, it uses over 55 games to reinforce reading and spelling using 9,000 pre-recorded words. Wordshark is designed for Key Stages 1-3 and includes KS1-2 word lists and KS3 subject word lists, but is also great for secondary and adult users as it includes higher level word lists.

Wordshark is ideal for children with dyslexia who may have become disillusion with the learning process and require additional motivation with these fun and confidence building games.

Each game supports different aspects of reading and spelling, with variable levels and speeds to suit all grades. With scores and timings displayed on screen, competitive play between two or more users provides good training in mouse and keyboard skills.

Extensive teacher options let you set up a work plan for each student and monitor their progress.

New version with new features. Including courses and games to support the teaching of phonics.

Words of one syllable are divided into phonemes (speech sounds) ready to play with phonic games. Phonic games include blending of sounds to form words, and segmenting of sounds for spelling.

A new game 'Say Word' incorporates voice recording as you read and speak the words.

Easy to read Sasson fonts have been added as the default font.
