Optim-Eyes colour-adjustable lamp to help people with visual dyslexia

Some people find that colour makes a big difference to their reading comfort. Until now, the only solutions were coloured overlays for the page or wearing tinted glasses. The Optim-Eyes Lamp offers an innovative new approach. It is easily adjustable to the preferred colour of different users, and will suit people whose colour preference changes over time.

Developed in association with optician Ian Jordan, an internationally renowned expert in visual processing disorders, the Optim-Eyes Lamp helps to overcome problems associated with visual dyslexia, photosensitive epilepsy and migraine. It is well established that the colour of ambient lighting can exacerbate the effects of dyslexia.

The Optim-Eyes lamp, however, is uniquely customisable, allowing the colour of ambient lighting to be 'fine-tuned' to suit each user. It comprises a cluster of 60 LEDs, twenty of each primary colour. Three dials control the proportion of red, green and blue emitted, while a fourth adjusts the intensity. When used in conjunction with the Jordan Reversal and Inversion Test and the Jordan Pattern Glare Screening Test, optimum colour balance can be set for each individual's needs - both for reading and writing. Ideal for use in study bedrooms, schools, libraries and resource centres.
