Olympus DS-40 digital voice recorder

Large image Olympus DS-40 digital voice recorder

The Olympus DS-40 – a small, stylishly designed, disability conscious, high quality, digital voice recorder (DVR).

The sleek, silver Olympus DS-40 digital voice recorder allows up to 136 hours of recording in WMA format with its 512MB of internal memory. A large, high-contrast, white LCD screen is backlit to show the menu very clearly.

Use the stereo microphone to record lectures and meetings. Remove it to put the recorder into dictation mode. Feel the differences in the tactile control buttons for people with visual impairments, dyspraxia and mobility problems. Choose to hear the menus and controls out loud if you have any reading difficulties.

The central, circular menu button navigates easily through the menus. An earphone socket gives privacy when listening to personal notes, music or lectures. An on/off switch saves battery power when not in use.

View a Flash video about the DS series launch on YouTube. We helped specify the features for blind and dyslexic people, and the video shows the handsome features of our Kirsty and Tom. We are very pleased that Olympus are taking disability and accessibility seriously in the design of a mainstream product.
