Dyslexia Awareness Week falls from the 5th to the 11th of October in the UK and so it’s the perfect time to highlight the issue especially for those who don’t fully understand it. Dyslexia affects many people in the UK and worldwide and sometimes people that have it might not even realise it. That is why awareness is so important. It’s important so that people can recognise if they themselves have a problem and also it can serve to educate the greater population on what exactly dyslexia is.
This is vital as often those who have dyslexia are misunderstood or even misdiagnosed. While thankfully this is not as prevalent as in the past, lack of knowledge and empathy can hinder a dyslexic person’s advancement.
